When you are conscious, you are present. You are aware of what is happening in and around you. You are observing the thoughts you’re thinking, the feelings you’re feeling, your body sensations and what they may be signaling to you.

When you are unconscious, the opposite seems obvious. You are not aware of what is happening around you, the thoughts that pop up and how they direct your behavior, language, and actions.
